Between a hurting world and a comfortable church.  The result is a culture that perpetuates incomplete joy and emptiness.  

 

We desire for all to know the goodness of God and for the Church to be the light of the world.

 

To change this culture we create:

Music and missional experiences to unify and mobilize people into hurting areas of our world.

Who We Are

STATEMENT OF FAITH

  We believe God’s intention for the world was a perfect union between God and humanity to live in complete peace, joy and harmony.  We believe human hearts hold brokenness, mess and a wandering that distances us from the author of life and our ultimate peace.  

  We also believe that God’s love for his perfect creation is bigger than any wandering, brokenness or mess as seen in his Son, Jesus Christ to return all goodness back to God and humanity to restore all things.  We believe this goodness is not attained by effort, certain prayers, how much you give, but by God’s extension of love and grace to those who hear and respond.  We believe that Jesus Christ was God made man, performed miracles, died on a Cross and rose again to make the mess beautiful by giving us the Father and the Holy Spirit.  

  We believe our call as followers is to be empowered by the Holy Spirit to become like Christ and deny our lives for the sake of goodness, peace, and the glory of God.  We believe the Church is the light of the world as receivers of God’s goodness, we are called to bring light into darkness, heal the broken, and die for enemies, as Jesus did.

1. Christ Centered

“If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you.” James 1:5

2. Other mindedness

“A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.” – John 13:34-35

3. Intentional Relationships

“Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms.” 1 Peter 4:10

“Be devoted to one another in love. Honor one another above yourselves.” Romans 12:10

4. Integrity

“Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things.” Phil 4:8

“Let your eyes look straight ahead; fix your gaze directly before you. Give careful thought to the paths for your feet and be steadfast in all your ways. Do not turn to the right or the left; keep your foot from evil.” Proverbs 4:25-27

“For we are taking pains to do what is right, not only in the eyes of the Lord but also in the eyes of man.” 2 Cor 8:21

5. High Performing Creativity

“Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men” Col. 3:23

“He has filled them with skill to do every sort of work done by an engraver or by a designer or by an embroiderer in blue and purple and scarlet yarns and fine twined linen, or by a weaver—by any sort of workman or skilled designer.” Exodus 35:35

Through our mess, we are loved, restored, and reconciled to Him:

“I have said these things to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world.”  John 16:33

He empowers us with all joy and peace in fullness for all to know Him:

“So Christ himself gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the pastors and teachers, to equip his people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ.” Ephesians 4:11-13

We are called as one body and one faith to make followers of Jesus:

“Let the message of Christ dwell among you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom through psalms, hymns, and songs from the Spirit, singing to God with gratitude in your hearts.” Colossians 3:16

 

GET TO KNOW US

 Hailing from Syracuse, New York and Oxford Pennsylvania, the Beautiful Mess team starts with the family members of Chris, Tim and Michael Ehrhart.  They began playing music and writing songs together in 2009 when they noticed the true power that music has people and in a larger way, culture.  After playing shows and seeing the inspiration and fulfillment from the songs, and times of worship, Beautiful Mess wondered what it would be like to carry that out into our everyday lives- changing lives to be fulfilled, and purposeful.  Feeling the weight of a culture that influences us to more negative things, Beautiful Mess Ministries was formed to combat this culture of things that take us away from who we were meant to be.  

We believe at Beautiful Mess Ministries that through inspiration, growth in our relationship with God and bringing to light the good around us, we can change lives and change culture to focus on the things that make us whole.  Join our movement by attending, serving or donating and help us make a change.
